Guided Experiences
Guided by the Land
Every activity at Kasabushi is shaped by the land, the river, and the seasons. Led by knowledgeable local guides who grew up reading these landscapes, each experience offers a genuine window into one of Africa's wildest ecosystems. No scripts, no crowds — just you and the Kafue.

The river seen from the river
Glide along the Kafue River in our nine-seater aluminium boat, guided by an expert naturalist who knows every bend, sandbank, and hippo pod. The river tells a different story at every hour — morning mists give way to midday heat shimmer, then a golden sunset turns the water to copper.
Watch hippos yawn and wallow, crocodiles slide from sun-baked rocks, and scores of waterbirds — herons, kingfishers, fish eagles — work the shallows around the ancient granite formations that line the banks.

A chorus that begins before dawn
Kafue National Park is a birder's paradise — with over 400 recorded species, the diversity is staggering. The riverine forests, miombo woodland, and Kafue River all attract different communities of birds, making every walk a new discovery.
Dawn chorus walks reveal the park's most elusive species. Our guides specialise in call identification and will help you find kingfishers darting over the shallows, African fish eagles circling overhead, and — for the truly lucky — the rare Pel's fishing owl hunting at dusk from the riverside trees.
Bring binoculars and a field guide; we'll supply the enthusiasm and the knowledge.

Stillness meets the wild
Begin your morning with a yoga session on the banks of the Kafue River. Led by a qualified instructor, these sessions draw on the profound stillness of the bush to deepen your practice. The only soundtrack is the river, the birds, and your own breath.
Whether you're an experienced yogi or a curious beginner, the natural setting transforms even a simple session into something memorable.

The big, the bold, and the breathtaking
Kafue National Park is Zambia's largest park and one of Africa's most biodiverse. Our game drives take you into this vast wilderness in open-rooftop 4×4 vehicles, driven and guided by naturalists with years of experience reading animal behaviour and tracking in Kafue's diverse ecosystems.
The park is home to lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, hippo, zebra, and over 150 mammal species. Cheetah, African wild dog, and the rare sable antelope are also spotted regularly. Every drive is different; every sighting is earned.
Morning drives take advantage of golden-hour light and active predators. Evening drives offer the drama of dusk, sundowners in the bush, and the sounds of a wild African night beginning.

The Kafue River rolls over dramatic granite outcrops to create a series of rapids, natural rock pools, and sculpted waterways. Guided walks along the river's edge reveal swimming holes, extraordinary rock formations, and a side of the Kafue rarely seen from a boat or a vehicle.
Climbing the rocks in exploration for an elusive otter sighting, or simply sit on warm granite and watch the river flow past.

The Lubalanzuki granite inselberg is one of the most dramatic geological features in this part of Kafue. Our sunrise hike takes you through miombo woodland, past boulders sculpted by millennia of wind and rain, to a summit that rewards with a full 360-degree panorama of the park.
The hike is moderately challenging but achievable for most fitness levels. As the first light catches the river and the woodland stretches endlessly in every direction, it becomes clear why this landscape inspired Kasabushi's philosophy: some dreams are worth every step.
Walking shoes and water are essential. Guides will point out tracks, plant species, and the stories embedded in the rock along the way.
