Our Story
From a Dream to
the Kafue River
Kasabushi began with a family and a river. Long before the camp existed, the founders spent seasons exploring Kafue National Park, drawn back again and again to a particular stretch of the Kafue River — where ancient granite boulders emerge from the water, where the miombo woodland meets the floodplain, and where the wilderness feels truly complete.
The camp that grew from those early visits is an expression of everything that makes this place special: built with natural materials, designed to disturb as little as possible, and run with a deep sense of responsibility to the landscape and to the communities who live alongside it.
Kasabushi operates as a concession within Kafue National Park in close partnership with African Parks and AP Kafue, contributing directly to the anti-poaching, wildlife monitoring, and community support programmes that safeguard this ecosystem for future generations.
It remains, as it began, a family affair — driven by passion, shaped by the river, and committed to sharing this extraordinary corner of Africa with those willing to seek it out.
