Our Philosophy

If Your Dreams Do Not
Scare You…

At Kasabushi, we believe that the most meaningful experiences lie just beyond the boundary of what feels comfortable. Our camp was born from an audacious dream — to create an authentic wilderness retreat in one of Africa's most spectacular and least-visited corners.

We hold that true luxury is not thread counts or cocktail menus. It is the freedom to be fully present in a wild place — to watch the sun set behind a horizon free of power lines, to hear silence that is actually alive with sound, to feel genuinely small in a landscape that has been unchanged for millennia.

Everything at Kasabushi — from the way we build to the way we guide — is shaped by a conviction that wilderness matters, that its preservation requires passion and financial commitment, and that the best way to protect a place is to help people fall in love with it.

"If your dreams do not scare you, they are not big enough."

What We Believe

Wilderness is not a backdrop. It is the whole point.

Conservation and community are not costs. They are the foundation.

The Kafue is not just a place to visit. It is a place to belong to.

The story of Kasabushi Camp

Our Story

From a Dream to
the Kafue River

Kasabushi began with a family and a river. Long before the camp existed, the founders spent seasons exploring Kafue National Park, drawn back again and again to a particular stretch of the Kafue River — where ancient granite boulders emerge from the water, where the miombo woodland meets the floodplain, and where the wilderness feels truly complete.

The camp that grew from those early visits is an expression of everything that makes this place special: built with natural materials, designed to disturb as little as possible, and run with a deep sense of responsibility to the landscape and to the communities who live alongside it.

Kasabushi operates as a concession within Kafue National Park in close partnership with African Parks and AP Kafue, contributing directly to the anti-poaching, wildlife monitoring, and community support programmes that safeguard this ecosystem for future generations.

It remains, as it began, a family affair — driven by passion, shaped by the river, and committed to sharing this extraordinary corner of Africa with those willing to seek it out.
